What raises the price of a move, and what lowers it

The bill is made of two things: the hourly rate for the movers and driver, and the vehicle rental. It grows with time rather than distance — so anything that saves time on moving day saves money too.

• A lift and a free parking space by the entrance affect the total more than the distance does: the same load moves noticeably faster with a lift than down four flights of stairs.
• Boxes packed and taped in advance shorten the time spent on site. If you order packing from us, that work goes into the same hourly rate.
• The minimum charge is 1 hour, after which we count in 15-minute steps. A short trip with a single wardrobe still costs at least one hour.
• Outside Tallinn a per-kilometre fee is added, and it depends on the vehicle: a 6 m³ van costs less per kilometre than a 90 m³ truck. Kilometres are counted by the Navirec GPS system, not estimated.
• The calculation starts and ends at our Tallinn office, so for a move within the city it is worth agreeing a time outside rush hour.

When we are not your best option

Our service does not fit every job, and it is fairer to say so before you ask for a quote than after the invoice.

• One item across town. The minimum charge is 1 hour and the clock starts at our office — for a single chair or parcel a courier will be cheaper.
• A van without people. The hourly rate includes the driver and the movers; that part cannot be taken out.
• A move at night or in a couple of hours. We work Mon–Sun 08:00–20:00 and the schedule is agreed in advance.
• Pianos, safes and other special items. Loads over 100 kg do not fall under the standard hourly rate — their price is agreed separately.
• Damage noticed later. We can only accept claims on the day of the service, while the items can still be inspected on site.

How the move goes

The MovingExpert process is simple and straightforward:

1. Contact us and describe what needs to be moved and from where.
2. Our specialist visits the site to assess the scope and give you an exact quote.
3. We agree on a date and time that suit your schedule.
4. The crew arrives at the agreed time with all the packing materials and tools.
5. We pack your belongings carefully to protect them in transit.
6. We load your property into our equipped and insured moving vehicles.
7. We transport everything to the new address. The vehicle is tracked by Navirec GPS, so the route and the kilometres driven can be checked afterwards.
8. We unload and place everything according to your instructions.
9. We collect the packing materials and waste and dispose of them responsibly.
